Boost MeHello all,

Just wanted to give everyone a status update on my new Prowler. I took everyone’s advice on the Prowler essentials. I ordered a set of front and rear mud flaps this morning. They are on national back order, but my local dealer helped me locate them in dealer’s inventory. Fronts are coming from a dealer in Michigan and the rears are coming from Texas. HaHa! I called my local PepBoys and they have the ceramic-coated brake pads in stock so I can pick those up this afternoon and install them this evening. Finally, I’m going to pull off my center caps (dealer just replaced two of them for breakage under warranty) this evening, using a Popsicle stick and hot glue the retaining tabs to make them more durable. I remove my wheels/tires frequently for cleaning so I hope this will make them more durable. I got my car back from the dealer yesterday for the warranty repair. They replaced the two broken center caps. They said that a valve either on or in my gas tank (I don’t remember which it was) is the problem with the gas gauge being inaccurate. They didn’t think it was the body control module or the gauge itself. So, that will be in next week and I’ll have to take it back again to get it finished. The tires are another issue. This particular car had sat at a dealer for about a year. My local dealer did a balance check on the wheels and tires and all four tires have flat spots. I called Goodyear and asked about the warranty. Their tire engineer recommended that I inflate all four tires to max pressure and drive the car for 500 miles and that should fix the problem. If it doesn’t, all I have to do is call Goodyear back and they will replace them free of charge. The only problem is the weather here in Indiana right now. It might take me a while to get that mileage on this car. I am ready for the weather to clear and warm up so I can start driving this car more. Well, that’s it for now. If anyone has any further suggestions/comments, please let me know. I welcome you sharing your experience with a new Prowler owner.

C’ya!

Kelley AustinHey Boost Me,

You got the best color

jkburnsBoost Me:

Great to hear you're working through your initial "issues". A couple of other pointers that I learned soon after taking delivery:

- When you close the deck lid, do so from the middle, so as to apply even pressure. That way you reduce the risk of warping the deck lid.
- Always know the nose is MUCH farther out from the car that you realize.
- Avoid speed bumps and other road imperfections...especially with front flaps. Always approach inclines (like driveways) at an angle.
- Consult with your dentist...you'll be constantly smiling behind the wheel!

Try to join us tonight in the Chat Room (7pm Eastern).

ed monahanBooster, use a little bit of dish washing soap on the center caps when you replace them. It acts as a lubricant. You still want to do the glue treatment, first.

Duane CurtoBoost,
I think we all share the great excitement you have, It's because you purchased Orange !

Duane

KLKschwarzGot to love the Orange!!!! Can not over emphasize the length of the nose. Pinocchio had a shorter nose. I have learned my lesson. I have had to have the nose repainted already (after 6 months). Learn to back the car in to parking spaces. It takes a little practice but will save a lot of paint from getting on the parking bollards and curbs!
JUST JPBoost me. DO NOT allow Goodyear to put you off too long. Once a certain amount of time goes by, they will not have to warranty them. Sunbird has had a TON of trouble with Goodyear. Good luck and enjoy the Kat!
